Training Provides Skilled Employees to Achievo
Achievo Corporation, the software and information technology outsourcing provider with a local front-end and China back-end service model, today welcomed the first group of university graduates from a joint training program with the Beijing ACEIT Training Institute. In addition, Achievo has signed long term agreements with China’s Shenzhen University and Beijing Information Technology Institute to provide qualified personnel to Achievo on an ongoing basis.
“As global businesses look to China as the alternative outsourcing destination for high-quality software development, we must be prepared to have qualified employees in place with skills that meet the specifications of our clients’ projects,” said Dr. Robert P. A new data center has begun operations at the Frankfurt airport. The data center controls all of the IT technology and networks for the second-largest airport in Europe. gedas operational services – which has 335 employees and is a joint venture with Fraport and the ICT service provider T-Systems – is responsible for the operation of this data center. The state-of-the-art infrastructure significantly simplifies IT operations, so that Fraport was able to reduce specific costs by over 10 percent during the first year.
After a construction period lasting nine months, the joint venture has put its new data center into operation at the airport, marking the completion of the set-up of gedas operational services. Currently, approximately 120 applications are being migrated according to a security concept that was approved in close cooperation with the IT department at Fraport. These include IT systems for ground traffic services and office communications as well as for InfoPlus - the central hub for all information at the airport.

The joint venture, named WMNetServ, will deliver outsourced telecom services to help customers focus on their core business and gain access to capabilities not available internally.

Tata Consultancy Services Asia Pacific Pte, a subsidiary of Tata Consultancy Services, the leading Indian global technology services organization, announced that it had signed a Shareholder Promoters Agreement and other relevant commercial documents with Beijing Zhongguancun Software Park Development Co., Uniware Co., and the Tianjin Huayuan Software Area Construction and Development Co., to establish China’s first industrial scale software company.
The joint venture, Tata Consultancy Services (China) Co., will provide IT outsourcing services and solutions to the Chinese domestic market as well as the global market. Microsoft will participate in the joint venture as a strategic investor, as soon as the joint venture is established.
Tata Consultancy Services will have the majority equity stake and management control of the joint venture company. Tata Consultancy Services (China) Co., will be located in Beijing’s Zhongguancun Software Park (z-Park), is expected to start operation in September this year and will provide IT services and solutions to China’s domestic market as well as major markets particularly Japan as well as the rest of Asia-Pacific region, US, and Europe. The key objective of this global initiative is to build the new venture as a role-model for the growing Chinese software industry.
The Shareholder Promoters Agreement and other relevant commercial documents were signed by representatives of the partners in Beijing today. Officers from National Development and Reform Commission of PRC, Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission, Tianjing Municipal Development and Reform Commission were present on the occasion to witness the signing ceremony
The joint venture will leverage the complimentary strengths of the different partners in technology, software development management, talent acquisition and training, including the world-class processes and practices of TCS as well as its experience of handling large and industrial-scale technology projects. It will also leverage experience and resources of the Chinese partners, which run the national software development parks. This successful model of cooperation has been initiated and supported by NDRC, with the objective of supporting China’s local software industry through international cooperation.
