HP announced that it has promoted John W. McCain to run HP Services, the company’s $15.5 billion worldwide services business.
A seasoned information technology services and sales executive, McCain will serve as senior vice president and general manager of HP Services. He will report to Ann Livermore, executive vice president, Technology Solutions Group, HP.
McCain, 47, has been the senior vice president of HP Consulting & Integration since December 2005. Prior to joining HP, McCain served as chief executive officer of iEnergizer, a privately-held, business process outsourcing services company. Previously, he was chief executive officer, North America, at Capgemini, and spent 16 years at EDS, where he held various executive positions within its e.Solutions, CIO Services and Commercial Services units.

MphasiS, a leading provider of IT services and BPO solutions, and EDS today announced that effective 1 November 2006 Jerry Rao will join the global leadership team of Electronic Data Systems (EDS) as Vice President and General Manager of EDS operations in India. EDS acquired a majority ownership stake in MphasiS earlier this year. In his new role, Mr. Rao will spearhead EDS’ business efforts in India and become the non-executive chairman of MphasiS. Mr. Rao will report directly to the EDS Office of the Chairman.
Speaking on the appointment, Mr. Ron Rittenmeyer, Chief Operating Officer of EDS said, “We are extremely happy to have Jerry join EDS’ global leadership team. He brings with him invaluable global experience across diverse positions and will join our leadership team in shaping EDS’ future strategy while continuing to provide leadership to the MphasiS team.”

Computer Sciences Corporation announced that Bala Mahadevan has been named president of CSC’s India operations. In this role, Mahadevan will be responsible for the financial and operational performance of the business unit, including the management of more than 7,000 professionals that provide product development, application management and remote infrastructure services within the region. He reports to Mary Jo Morris, president of CSC’s Global Transformation Services business unit, and replaces Tom Kenyon, who has been interim president for the past 12 months and will be returning to a senior role in North America.
Mahadevan joins CSC from Hewlett Packard (HP) GlobalSoft, where he was director of global delivery and application services. In this role, he managed HP’s service delivery centers in various regions throughout South Asia. Previously, he worked for DEC and Compaq in marketing, sales, business development and program management, and for Covansys and TCS in operations and software development.

Keane, Inc. announced that Richard S. Garnick, President of North American Services and Global Business Lines and a member of the Company’s Office of the President, has been dismissed for cause and will leave the Company effective today.
The dismissal was for just cause related to compliance with the Company’s policy on travel expenses and unauthorized communications inconsistent with the Company’s interests. Because this action involves a personnel matter, the Company does not intend to discuss specific details concerning the reasons for Mr. Garnick’s dismissal.

New entity starts up under leadership of experienced consultant and manager
Atos Consulting, Atos Origin’s consulting arm, is expanding its activities with the official launch of Atos Consulting in Belgium. This launch fits with the company’s natural evolution and its strategic objectives for Belgium and Luxemburg. Atos Consulting in Belgium is headed by Luc Brouwers, who started in his new position on 1st September 2006.
Atos Consulting is Atos Origin’s internationally operating IT consulting division. The concentration of the strengths of the consultancy offices in various European countries creates an organisation which is able to take responsibility across borders for international projects. A total of 2,500 consultants work for Atos Consulting worldwide. Atos Consulting Belgium is part of the international Atos Consulting network which already operates within Europe in the Netherlands, England, France and Spain, and will now also target the Belgian and Luxemburg market with an offering of high-tech solutions in several sectors.

Computer Sciences Corporation today announced that Gerhard Fercho has been named president of CSC’s Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) Central Region, effective Nov. 1, 2006. In his new role, Fercho, 53, will be responsible for CSC’s activities in Germany, Switzerland, Austria and Eastern Europe, and will act as chairman of the board of directors of Germany’s CSC Deutschland Solutions GmbH. He will report to Guy Hains, president of CSC’s European Group.
Prior to joining CSC, Fercho served as a chief executive officer of Atos-Origin for Germany and Central Europe. Previously, he spent several years in management positions in the technology industry.
“Gerhard’s extensive experience and broad IT industry knowledge make him an ideal candidate for this position,” said Hains. “I am confident Gerhard’s appointment will continue to strengthen our central region’s ability to deliver operational and financial results to both CSC and our clients.”

Wolfgang Sturm (57) has been appointed Chief Operation Officer (COO) of Atos Origin in Germany and Central Europe, including activities in Austria, Switzerland and Poland. He will report directly to Dominique Illien, Member of the Management Board of Atos Origin, responsible for Germany and Central Europe region.
Wolfgang Sturm was previously responsible for the IT outsourcing business of Atos Origin in Germany as Senior Vice President Managed Operations. Significant contracts have been signed recently in this business area, with the mobile telephone provider E-Plus, the pay TV channel Premiere and Symrise, the producer of fragrances and flavours.
Wolfgang Sturm and his team’s objective is to continue Atos Origin past year’s successful growth in Managed Operations, Consulting and Systems Integration by further developing its close business relationships with national and international customers. In 2005 the company nearly doubled sales in the Germany & Central Europe region to EUR 562 million.

Former Chairman of Deutsche Telekom is 5th Independent Director on TCS Board
Tata Consultancy Services, India’s leading global IT services and consulting company announced that at a meeting of the Board of Directors held today, the directors have appointed Dr. Ron Sommer as an additional Independent Director.
Dr. Sommer, the former chairman of the board of management of Deutsche Telekom (1995-2002), brings his extensive global experience in telecom and other sectors to the TCS board. He has a PhD in Mathematics from the University of Vienna. In addition to TCS, Dr Sommer holds the following positions:
- Member, Supervisory Board of Munich Re (Germany)
- Chairman, Advisory Board and Director, AFK Systema (Russia)
- Member, International Advisory Board, Blackstone Group (USA)
- Member, Supervisory Board, Celanese AG (Germany)
- Director, Motorola Inc. (USA)
Prior to joining Deutsche Telekom, Dr. Sommer spent 15 years (1980-1995) with Japan’s Sony Corp managing its German, US and European operations.

Accenture today announced a number of appointments to its executive leadership team, effective Sept. 1, including new group chief executives for its Business Consulting and Outsourcing growth platforms and four of its five operating groups.

Kevin M. Campbell: Group Chief Executive–Outsourcing
In his new role, Mr. Campbell, 46, has ultimate responsibility for the development and delivery of Accenture’s application outsourcing, infrastructure outsourcing and business process outsourcing services and solutions. He most recently served as Senior Managing Director–Business Process Outsourcing, responsible for developing new areas of opportunity for Accenture’s BPO capabilities; he also had operational and client management responsibility for BPO. Mr. Campbell rejoined Accenture in 2005 from Hewitt Associates, where he was market strategy and development leader of Hewitt’s HR outsourcing business. Mr. Campbell was previously with Accenture from 1982 until 1999. He succeeds Joellin Comerford, who will work closely with Mr. Campbell through the transition process. Additionally, Ms. Comerford will take on strategic assignments in the execution of Accenture’s strategic growth agenda as well as work directly on Accenture’s largest and most complex assignments.

HP today announced that Pablo Sanchez-Lozano has been named senior vice president and general manager of its Managed Services business unit within HP Services.
With more than 15 years in HP Services, Sanchez-Lozano, 40, brings extensive global business management, sales engagement and finance expertise to his new position. He will report to Steve Smith, senior vice president of HP Services.
Since 2004, Sanchez-Lozano has served as the vice president and general manager of HP's Managed Services organization for the Europe, Middle-East and Africa (EMEA) region, where he led the signing of many noteworthy deals, including KONE, Renault and West LB AG.
Sanchez-Lozano also created and led HP's strategic outsourcing sales engagement team for the EMEA region, which won significant outsourcing contracts with accounts such as Bank of Ireland as well as a key alliance with British Telecom.
"Pablo's extensive experience in HP Services is an asset that our clients will appreciate," said Smith. "We are thrilled that he will be able to hit the ground running to build on our momentum and lead this critical business for HP."
HP's Managed Services organization provides companies with IT and application outsourcing services and solutions to manage their IT environments. It also provides business process outsourcing capabilities specific to finance and administration processes. In fiscal year 2005, the business unit saw year-over-year growth of 24 percent.

Capgemini Deutschland hat einen ex-HP'ler eingestellt und meldet:
Zum 1. Mai 2006 hat Jörg Otto (38) die Leitung des Business Development bei der Outsourcing-Sparte von Capgemini in Zentraleuropa übernommen. In dieser Funktion ist er verantwortlich für die IT-Outsourcing Vertriebsaktivitäten in Deutschland, Österreich, Schweiz sowie Osteuropa.
Zuletzt war Jörg Otto bei Hewlett Packard als Vertriebsleiter Deutschland für Managed Services und Business Process Outsourcing verantwortlich. Davor bekleidete er bei dem amerikanischen Technologie-Konzern verschiedene Account- und Vertriebsfunktionen. Er studierte technische Betriebswirtschaft an der Fachhochschule Offenburg.
Das Personalkarussell dreht sich wieder. Das Powerhouse HP baut seit Anfang des Jahres massiv Personal auf allen Ebenen und Bereichen ab. Durch rigide Restrukturierungs- und Replacementmassnahmen suchen vom Servicetechiker bis zum Manager ehemalige HP'ler neue Jobs. HP streicht bis Ende 2006 international rund 6.000 Stellen davon in Deutschland 1.500 Stellen.
